The We Are All New York Fellowship is currently accepting applications from emerging nonprofit, faith, government, and community leaders in New York City for our 2021-2022 cohort. This cohort will meet from October 2021 through June 2022. While we currently plan to hold all seminars and events in person, we will continue to monitor the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic to prioritize the health and safety of our Fellows and staff, and may hold some or all seminars via Zoom.

The application deadline for the 2021-2022 cohort of We Are All New York is Friday, August 6th at 5:00 PM.  Sponsoring agencies pay a fee of $100 per participant. If the fee affects your agency’s ability to support a participant, please contact thecenteratjcrcny@gmail.com to explore an alternate arrangement.

Fellowship Highlights

  • Participate in monthly skill-building seminars and improve core nonprofit and professional skill sets
  • Network and build relationships with organizations, professionals and leaders across New York City
  • Engage in dialogues centered on community issues on both a borough and citywide level
  • Gain access to additional resources and best practices
  • Become intimately involved with community engagement efforts around an issue facing NYC of the cohort’s choosing

Fellowship Objectives

The We Are All New York Fellowship is a professional development and networking program geared towards strengthening local leaders, agencies, and the city as a whole.  Through 10 months of professional and community development training sessions, group activities, and networking opportunities with local leaders and experts, Fellows will achieve the following objectives:

  • Leadership and Professional Skills: Strengthen nonprofit professional skills and gain a better understanding of personal leadership style
  • Partnership Building: Improve ability to establish meaningful relationships and sustainable partnerships with other the diverse civic, ethnic, faith, and communal leaders of New York City
  • Community Awareness: Increase awareness of existing communities, cultures, and agencies in New York City, as well as the issues they face
  • Professional Use of Self: Improve understanding and awareness of one’s role within their organization and effectively use their knowledge and skills
  • Cultural Humility: Increase awareness and appreciation of diversity within the communities of New York City, and understand how to utilize this diversity as an asset to one’s self, agency, community, and the city as a whole
  • Networking: Have the ability to engage with the Fellowship network – including Fellows, alumni, and other JCRC-NY community partners – as common issues of concern and crisis arise throughout the city in order to effectively find solutions together.

Applicant Eligibility

  • Full-time professional at a nonprofit, faith-based, or government organization serving populations in New York City
  • Dedicated to improving and serving communities in New York City
  • Committed to and has a demonstrated record of promoting inclusion and diversity
  • Possesses proven leadership qualities, a passion to help strengthen community, and a clear vision for the future, with a history of civic participation and leadership
  •  Highly motivated to improve professional development and personal growth

A completed application includes this form, a current resume, a headshot, and a recommendation letter from a supervisor. Qualified applicants will be invited for a group interview in August.
